Description:

Charles M. Heck (1881-1952): Charles McGee Heck received his M.A. from Columbia University in 1901. Heck taught at various universities across the country before taking a position as Associate Professor of Physics at NC State in 1913. Heck became Head of the Department of Physics in 1917 and held that position until his retirement in 1946.
