North Carolina Agricultural Extension Service: North Carolina Agricultural Extension Service is a cooperative service between North Carolina State University, North Carolina Agricultural and Technical University, and the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture; located on campus of N.C. State University.
John A. Arey (1887-1985): John Allen Arey received his B.S. and M.S. in 1909 and 1910 from NC State. He was in charge of the Dairy Extension, North Carolina Agricultural Extension Service, from 1920-1953. In 1953 he was News & Observer's Tar Heel of the Week. He is called the "father of North Carolina dairying" and developed the Dairy Herd Improvement Association.
