Description:

Ernest Hodgson (1932-): Professor of the Department of Entomology from 1961-1989, Acting Head of the Department of Entomology between 1967 and 1987, Founding Head of the Department of Environmental and Molecular Toxicology from 1989-1997, and Professor and Head of the Department of Environmental and Molecular Toxicology from 1989-2003. In 2003 he retired and became Emeritus Professor in that department. Hodgson was named the William Neal Reynolds Professor of Entomology in 1977. He received the Alumni Distinguished Graduate Professorship Award in 1987, the O. Max Gardner Award in 1996, and the Alexander Quarles Holladay Medal for Excellence in 1997. He earned his Ph.D. in Entomology, Biochemistry from Oregon State University.
