Description:	Ralph Clay Swann (1912-1967): Swann received his Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1941. He was appointed Head of the Department of Chemistry at N.C. State College in 1961. His expertise was in rocket science. Swann is the middle man in the photograph of 3 men looking at models of Harrelson Hall and other NC State University campus buildings.
