Description:	Engineering honors student, G. Smedes York, presents results of individual research project (geodesic dome) at a seminar. Professor Frances Richardson and students listen to presentation. May 1963. G. Smedes York (1941-): York received his B.S. in Civil Engineering from NCSU in 1963. He was a Raleigh City Council member from 1977 to 1979 and Mayor of Raleigh from 1979 to 1983. York was inducted into the Raleigh Hall of Fame in 2007.
