Ronald Reagan (1911-2004): A former Hollywood actor, Ronald Reagan was elected Governor of California in 1967, serving in that role until 1975. After two unsuccessful bids to win the Republican nomination for President of the U.S. in 1968 and 1976, he was nominated for and elected to become the 40th President of the United States.
