Robert Worth Shoffner (1902-1995): Bob Shoffner organized the Extension Farm Management Program in 1940, became District Agent from 1945-1950, Assistant State Director of Extension 1950-1961, Director of the Extension Service from 1961-1963, Assistant to the Dean of the School of Agriculture from 1963-1964, and then Director of Foundations and Development from 1964-1969. He received the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Superior Service award in 1958 and the Progressive Farmer’s “Man of the Year in Agriculture” award in 1960. He received his B.S.in Poultry Science from NCSU in 1929. |
