    1. 1890 (circa) Entomology curriculum established Entomology curriculum taught within the Department of Horticulture, Arboriculture, and Botany.
    2. 1903 Entomology curriculum established Entomology first listed as a separate subject in the course catalog, with classes fulfilling part of the four-year degree in Agriculture
    3. 1912 Department of Zoology and Entomology established
    4. 5/17/1922 Evolution debate Entomology professor Zeno P. Metcalf debates Bible Conference leader William B. Riley on the topic "Resolved: That Evolution is a Demonstrated Fact" in the old Pullen Hall.
    5. 1924 First master's degree in Entomology conferred
    6. 1950 Division of Biological Sciences established The Division of Biological Sciences is established; the Department of Zoology and Entomology is placed within.
    7. 1950 Department of Zoology, Department of Entomology Department of Entomology and Zoology separated into two programs; Department of Zoology, Department of Entomology created
    8. 1955 Department of Entomology established The Division of Biological Sciences is dissolved, and all subjects within become individual departments. Out of this, the Department of Entomology is established.
