1985 Laura Kerrigan named "All American"

Laura Kerrigan was named "All American" in 1985. Kerrigan finished second all-time in goals (53) and was tied fifth all-time in assists (29) at NC State.

1987-1990 Women's soccer made NCAA tournament

The women's soccer team made several NCAA tournament appearances between 1987 and 1990, including the Final Four in 1988.

1988 Women's soccer won ACC championship

The women's soccer team defeated the North Carolina Tarheels 4-3 on penalty kicks and won the first ACC women's soccer tournament. NC State goalkeeper Lindsay Brecher was named the "Most Valuable Player" of the tournament.

1988 Women's soccer made Final Four

The women's soccer team made it to the NCAA tournament Final Four. They were defeated 4-1 by North Carolina Tarheels.

1988 Larry Gross named ACC and National "Coach of the Year"

Coach Gross was named ACC and National "Coach of the Year" in the same year he guided the women's soccer team to win the ACC tournament and reached the Final Four in the NCAA championship.

1988-1990 Charmaine Hooper named "All American"

Charmaine Hooper was named "NSCAA All American" in 1989 and 1990. She was named "All-ACC" in 1988, 1989, and 1990. She tied the school record for goals in a single game with 4 goals, and she led the ACC in goals and total points in 1988 and 1989. 1991 Fabienne Gareau named "All American"

Soccer player Fabienne Gareau was named "NSCAA All American."

1991-1995 Thori Staples honored

Soccer player Thori Staples was named ACC "Rookie of the Year" and "National Freshman of the Year" in 1991. She was a four-time All-ACC selection for 1992 to 1995. She played on the ACC All-Tournament team in 1994 and 1995 and was voted North Carolina Female Athlete of the Year for 1994. After college, Thori became a member of the U.S. National Team from 1992 to 1999. She was a member of the 1995 FIFA Women’s World Cup team and was considered the nation’s top defender during her playing career.

1993 Catherine Zaborowski named "All American"

Catherine Zaborowski was named "NSCAA All American." She was part of the Norwegian women's soccer team and won silver in the first Women's World Cup in 1991.

2000s

12/2000 Players selected in WUSA draft

Women's soccer players Charmaine Hooper, Linda Kurtyka, Mary Pitera, Thori Staples Bryan, and Kim Yankowski were selected in the first Women's United Soccer Association draft. Hooper and Pitera went to the Atlanta Beat; Kurtyka and Bryan went to the Bay Area CyberRays; and Yankowski went to the Carolina Courage. Thori Staples Bryan was a first-round pick and the first American selected in the draft.

2009 Players selected in WPS draft

Women's soccer players Lindsay Vera and Jessica O'Rourke were selected for the 2009 Women's Professional Soccer draft and went to the Boston Breakers and Chicago Red Stars, respectively.

2020 Tziarra King selected in NWSL draft

Tziarra King was the first Wolfpack player selected in the National Women's Soccer League draft, and she was selected as the eighth overall pick to the Utah Royals FC. King finished third all-time in career starts (88), goals (48), and points (115) and earned a combined 31 conference, regional and national awards throughout her time at NC State.

2022 Linda Hamilton honored

Linda Hamilton was the first member of the women's soccer team to be inducted into the National Soccer Hall of Fame. She was part of the U.S. women's soccer team and won gold at the first Women's World Cup in 1991.
