Charmaine Hooper named "All American"

Charmaine Hooper was named "NSCAA All American" in 1989 and 1990. She was named "All-ACC" in 1988, 1989, and 1990. She tied the school record for goals in a single game with 4 goals, and she led the ACC in goals and total points in 1988 and 1989. After leaving NC State, she was a WUSA All-Star for the Atlanta Beat and the Canadian National Team "Player of the Year" in 1994 and 1995. She has played in 3 FIFA World Cups. Hooper was inducted into the United Soccer League Hall of Fame in 2002, the Canadian Soccer Hall of Fame in 2012, and the NC State Athletics Hall of Fame in 2014.

Hooper and Pitera went to the Atlanta Beat; Kurtyka and Bryan went to the Bay Area CyberRays; and Yankowski went to the Carolina Courage. Thori Staples Bryan was a first-round pick and the first American selected in the draft.
